We're a small editorial team and we're growing. If you write specifically, listen carefully, and have opinions worth defending — we'd like to hear from you.

TermsReviews are paid per piece. Rate depends on length and turnaround and is discussed at offer. Pen names are welcome — we publish under whatever byline you prefer. Editorial independence is non-negotiable.

What we look for

Four things, mostly.

Specific writing.If you can name the second bar of the second verse and tell us why it works, we want to read you. Vague is the enemy.
A consistent pace.Two to four reviews a month is the sweet spot. Sporadic-but-brilliant is harder for us to plan around than dependable-and-solid.
Broad taste, narrow ear.We're a generalist publication. You don't need to like everything — but you should be able to listen to anything and write honestly about it.
Discretion.We don't trash artists for sport. Negative reviews exist; cruelty doesn't. If a record is bad, say why with the same care you'd use to praise a good one.

We read every application. Expect a reply within two weeks, even if it's “not right now.”

One more thing

You don't need a music degree, a published book, or a verified Twitter to write for us. Send the samples you're proudest of — they don't have to be about music. We're reading for taste and specificity, not for credentials.
